SSI Shredding Systems designs and manufactures 1, 2 & 4-shaft shredders, primary reducers and pre-load transfer station compactors. SSI's patented features and low-speed, high-torque technologies provide solutions for size reduction, volume reduction, resource recovery, recycling, security destruction and pre-processing.

Willamette Resources, Inc, an Allied Waste Services company, is a material recovery facility in Wilsonville that is particularly suited to handle construction and demolition material and offers a recycling depot for the public. The generator can combine waste at the job site and transport the mixed material to WRI where materials such as cardboard, plastic, paper, metal, wood, concrete, brick, and other materials are separated for recycling. WRI is strongly committed to the environment. This facility specializes in documenting LEED certified construction loads with project summary information. WRI also offers drop boxes and hauling services.

 

Directions:

  1. From the north, take I-5 to exit #286 (Stafford Road / N. Wilsonville).

  2. Turn right at off-ramp and take an immediate left onto Commerce Circle.

  3. Commerce Circle turns into 95th Avenue.

  4. Go south on 95th 0.8 mile to Freeman.

  5. Turn right on Freeman. You'll see a sign for SSI on 95th.

  6. SSI is the first drive on the left.

  1. From the south, take I-5 to exit #283, Wilsonville exit.

  2. Turn west (left) on SW Wilsonville Rd.,

  3. Right on SW Boones Ferry Road for just over a mile.

  4. Turn left onto the ramp, then immediate right onto 95th for just over half a mile. Turn left on Freeman.

  • 2007 Northwest Regional Symposium

    22nd Annual Northwest Regional SWANA Symposium

    EMERGENCY AND DISASTER DEBRIS MANAGEMENT

    Speakers from the Northwest and the nation were on hand at the Tacoma Convention center for the Annual Northwest Regional Symposium hosted by SWANA Evergreen chapter. The single topic event of Emergency and Disaster Debris Management brought interested individuals from all parts of the west to learn, experience and review this most important and timely waste management issue.

    Conferees were thrilled by the innovative entertainment provided by Rob Faust - The Mask Messenger. The audience tries on a new attitude wearing the hand made masks.

A Winter forum on Disaster Debris Management held January 19th, 2006.

Debris management planning is essential to diverting large volumes of disaster generated waste from disposal.  A single disaster can generate years of waste and undue many years of advances in solid waste recycling and recovery.
